Brunello di Montalcino is a DOCG for dry red wine in the Italian region of Tuscany. The zone includes the slopes around the picturesque hilltop town of Montalcino - 40 kilometres south of Siena in the province of the same name. The wine is made from 100 per cent varietal Sangiovese Brunello. An important aspect of the quality lies in the very special climate, as it is warmer and drier than in the nearby Chianti areas and the nights are cooler. The Castello di Banfi winery was founded by two Italian-Americans from New York, Harry and John Mariani, who had become very wealthy by importing Lambrusco. In the mid-1970s, they created a very ambitious wine project based on the highest quality, which quickly gained great recognition.

The Italian region of Apulia (Puglia) with its capital Bari is located deep in the south on the Adriatic coast. The elongated region consists of the spur (the Gargano Mountains) and the heel (the Salento Peninsula) of the boot. The area is one of the oldest wine-growing regions in the world, as the Phoenicians and Greeks planted vines here 3,000 years ago. The Romans particularly valued the wine from Tarentum (port city of Taranto) and the poet Horace (65-8 BC) described this area as a place of “eternal spring”. In contrast to the other southern regions, there are hardly any mountains, but the landscape consists of plateaus and flatlands. The climate is dry and hot with little rainfall, so artificial irrigation is sometimes necessary. The soils consist primarily of limestone, clay and sandstone. Puglia has the most grape varieties in southern Italy, around 80 percent of which are red.

Silvaner is an old variety that once was the most important grape in Germany. It likes average exposure to sunshine and needs moist soil. 

German most famous and oldest viticulture is the „Steilhange“, steep slopes along the Mosella river. No wonder that Weingut Milz can praise such a long winemaking tradition and history. Domaine Bruneau-Dupuy is a long family history. Today it is Sylvain, the winegrower, and his wife Angélique, who manage the vineyard. Located in the Saint Nicolas de Bourgueil appellation, the couple only produce their wines in this appellation in 100% Cabernet Franc.

The soil is 2/two thirds on sands and gravel and another third on clayey-limestone slopes. Since 2013, Sylvain has been managing the vineyard in organic agriculture.

Grüner Veltliner is Austria's most important wine and recognizable from its spicy "peppery" flavor. The association with green, white and, due to higher ripeness also black pepper is complimented by a fruit-driven bouquet and crisp acidity. 

Côtes de Bourg is an Appellation d'origine contrôlée (AOC) for Bordeaux wine situated around the small town of Bourg-sur-Gironde near Bordeaux, France. The first vineyards in the area were founded by the Romans. In the Middle Ages, Bourg was a major port for wine and the vineyards developed at the same tempo as the estuary traffic. Red Côtes de Bourg are garnet in colour and are predominantly based on the Merlot grape, blended with smaller quantities of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Some Chateaux still use Malbec as part of the blend. The vine has been established in le Bourgeais for centuries and the current varieties have been selected because of their performance in relation to the soil. The Côtes de Bourg are characterized by the diversity and richness of their soils.
Although the Côtes de Bourg is composed of mainly clay and limestone soils, their make-up is so rich that there is a veritable mosaic of sand and gravel in the area around Pugnac. Three types are predominant. Firstly, the Sienna-red Quaternary alluvium that is quite specific to the region and situated more on the heights: Merlot and Malbec are widely cultivated. Merlot and Cabernet are planted on clay and sandy gravel soils while Merlot is also grown on the widespread areas of clay and limestone.

Historically the name should be given only to the municipalities of Gaiole, Radda and Castellina, that were part of the ancient "Florentine Military League of Chianti" whose symbol was a black rooster. The hilltops of Sancerre vineyards spread through 14 villages. The two grape varieties  in Sancerre are the Sauvignon Blanc and the Pinot Noir. They have gained the AOC status in 1936. The red and rosé wines, made from the noble Pinot Noir, followed in 1959 when they were awarded the AOC accreditation.

The red wines illustrate the virtues of Pinot Noir. They offer a bouquets of cherry and morellos. 

In the 12th century, cultivation of vines was given added impetus through the combined efforts of the Augustine monks in St-Satur and the ruling counts of Sancerre. At that time Sancerre was famous for its red wine, produced predominantly from the Pinot Noir grape, and exported from the region along the Loire. This wine is often mentioned in accounts of life at the royal court. The famous wine of Sancerre was, in the opinion of Duke Jean de Berry, indeed the finest wine to be found in the entire kingdom.

The only wine-growing region that traditionally produces high-quality, sweet red wines is Georgia and the Kindzmarauli growing region there. Georgian wines are among the oldest in the world. The Kindzmarauli wine cooperative has also existed for centuries. Saperavi is the most important autochthonous grape variety from Georgia, Ukraine, Moldavia and Romania and produces spicy, medium-heavy wines with sophisticated wines. It is traditionally not only dry, but also semi-dry to sweet.

The dry Schloss-Riesling of the von Schubert family. The estate wines of the winery come exclusively from the Grand Cru sites of the Maximin Grünhaus vineyard. The location of the old estate on the Ruwer is spectacular - the vineyards Abtsberg, Herrenberg and Bruderberg stretch out in a row from the little river Ruwer and the von Schubert family's estate house on a southern exposure. The soil is bluish Devonian slate on a steep slope.

After years of enological research, the Pisoni family managed to develop a vinification method that does not require the use of added sulfites but guarantees great quality wine. Codecce takes its name from the homonymous vineyard on the hill of San Siro, perfect for the cultivation of white berried grapes which reach the perfect level of maturation and aromatic concentration. It is a wine with a full, mature and exotic fragrance, and a soft but fresh and crunchy taste: a perfect representation of Valle dei Laghi, an alpine territory with a mediterranean climate.
WINE WITH NO ADDED SULFITES

Blend 70% Sauvignon White, 20% Goldtraminer, 10% Nosiola

The Valenti winery is relatively young. It was only founded in 2004 and newly planted on almost 30 hectares. The soils are among the best on Mount Etna and in Sicily in general - Passopisciaro in the municipality of Castiglione di Sizilia. The elegant Rosato has its basis in the red wine grape variety of Etna Nerello Mascalese. The Etna wines are reminiscent of Pinot Noir or even more of German Pinot Noir - mineral, with fresh cherry fruit and careful aging in wood.
In the "Storia die Vini d'Italia" (History of the Wines of Italy), published in 1596, wines from here are mentioned and their exceptional quality attributed to the fly ash blown in from Mount Etna.
The grape varieties used are 80% Nerello Mascalese and 20% Nerello Cappuccio.

As the red wine of the line without sulphites we chose Teroldego: not only because it is the most important wine of the tradition of Trentino, but also for the characteristics of this variety, being it rich in anthocyanin, natural antioxidants. Thanks to its soft tannins it is perfect for a vinification and ripening only in steel, which enhances the fragrance of wild berries, strawberry and sour cherry, and a fresh and immediate drink.

WINE WITHOUT SULPHITES ADDED.

The Monferrato zone lays claim to being Barbera's birthplace, and records of it growing there as far back as the 13th century. But the hills around Alba and Monforte d'Alba have proved they are capable of growing some particularly fine Barbera, as are parts of the Asti province. Century-old vines still exist in many regional vineyards and allow for the production of long-aging, robust red wines with intense fruit and enhanced tannic content. The best known appellation is the DOCG(Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita) Barbera D'Asti in the Piedmont region.

One of the rare dry white wines from the small volcanic island of Pantelleria. The aromas reflect the proximity of the sea - caper flowers, sage, jasmine and white peach and a fascinating saltiness. The traditional grape variety is Zibbibo - that is, the noble grape variety Moscato d'Alessandria. The wines from Pantelleria are part of the Unesco world cultural heritage. Be sure to try them! The Carlo Pellegrino winery was one of the first Sicilian producers of Marsala in 1880.

A captivating Supertuscan that combines the four red varieties selected in the history of Banfi come the best for our vineyards in Montalcino. The mild winter and the summer characterized by excellent temperature excursions between day and night, favored the excellent ripeness and quality of the grapes. Thanks to these conditions the wines are balanced and complex. The result is an austere and intriguing wine, with distinctly fruity and spicy fragrances. The aromas of licorice and pepper are accompanied by a slight hint of leather. In the mouth it is balanced, with sweet tannins and persistent hints

Castello Banfi is a family owned estate vineyard and winery in the Brunello region of Tuscany.  Castello Banfi wines are well known for combining high quality and value throughout their Tuscan region offerings. Bonnezeaux is a white wine made with Chenin Blanc grapes that grow along the banks of the Loire River in the Touraine district of France. Wines range in style from dry to sweet, and still to sparkling, each with its own distinct character. The Chenin Blanc is loved for its delicate floral aromas and boisterous taste that will pucker your lips and make you immediately wish for another sip.

Behind the young winery La Nascosta is part of the Mastrojanni family, which is famous in Montalcino for its Brunello. The new project is primarily dedicated to white wines - on the volcanic soils of Monte Amiata near the Orcia River.

The grapes for Macchialuna grow on 1.5 hectares of vineyards. The white wine contains 60% Petit Manseng and 40% Sauvignon Blanc. Petit Manseng is native to small quantities, especially in southern France. The grape variety has small, hard-skinned berries with aromas of cinnamon, exotic fruits, honey and ripe peach. Sauvignon Blanc brings minerality, saltiness, some herbal aromas, hay to the wine. A very strict selection is carried out by hand picking. The grapes are then cooled to 6°C and cold maceration begins for 6-12 hours.

Beautiful Cru de Muscadet from an old vine and sits on the lees for 30 months (!). It is very long-lasting and can be decanted. The vineyard plot in Saint Fiacre called Le Rochils has gneiss soils. The Melon grape variety, which is found in every Muscadet in the region, originally comes from Burgundy and is related to White Burgundy. It was introduced to the Loire Valley around 1700.

The Mosel-Saar-Ruwer classic in perfection by Maximin Grünhaus from the Grand Cru vineyard Abtsberg. Light and refreshing with low alcohol levels and a beautiful balance, these naturally sweet Rieslings are always ready to drink. Riesling is one of the noble grape varieties and is capable of producing a variety of extraordinary white wine styles, and is most known for the sweeter-style German wine it produces.  Although sweet wines dominate this category, there are some amazingly dry and complex wine is produced in Alsace, Germany and the United States. This grape variety dominates in Germany and the majority of the white wines produced there are made in the sweeter style. There is a classification system in place, which categorizes wines by their sweetness. From driest to sweetest, they are Kabinett, Spätlese, Auslese,  Beerenauslese and Trockenbeerenauslese. These whites range from the semisweet, lighter style to the extremely sweet, lush and dessert wine style.

Viticulture in the Layon area was developed by Dutch traders in the 16th century. The wine is made from 100% Chenin Blanc grape variety. The temperate oceanic and particularly dry climate, combined with the shallow and pebbly soils that warm up quickly, offer ideal conditions for the development of noble rot. The slopes are well ventilated and allow overripe grapes to be harvested with a very high sugar content (90g of residual sugar in the wine). The berries have to be collected manually in several harvesting stages. The golden yellow color changes to old gold with amber reflections as it ages.

The classification of German wines is very different from that of Italy. The VDP (Verband Deutscher Prädikatsweingüter) is the Association of Quality German Winegrowers, and brings together the producers who can offer the highest results, very similar to the organisation of Burgundy territories. Furthermore, wines that are only made from grapes from certain plots of the best vineyards are called VDP Grosse Lage, similar to the 'Grand Cru' in Bourgogne. In this bottle of Riesling, the parcel is in Herrenberg. And finally within the Grosse Lage there are the Grosses Gewächs (GG), the dry wines in this category.

The Crozes-Hermitages appellation in the northern section of the Rhône is classified as a cru location. It is located in the southern part of the section on the left bank of the Rhône. The red wines are made from Syrah and a maximum of 15% Marsanne or Roussane, the white wines from Marsanne and Roussanne. A well-known lover of the wines was the locally famous bandit Mandrin.

The single vineyard Savennières only covers 1.8 hectares and has sandy soil with granite, slate and volcanic rock. Chenin Blanc is one of the finest white wine grape varieties. It is at home on the Loire near Anjou, more precisely in Vouvray and Layon. The highly rated Château Soucherie winery was once the castle of the Dukes of Brissac. The vineyards cover 28 hectares.
The wines matured on the fine lees in the tonneau for 12-14 months. They are complex and elegant with delicate aromas - honeydew melon, quince and pear.

The Cuvée Barberini is a homage to the founding fathers of the winery. It is made from old vines of Grenache, Mourvèdre and Syrah. The Grenache grapes are planted on the most valuable, high Quaternary alluvial terraces surrounding the winery. These terraces are the terroirs of quartzite pebbles and clay that give the Barberini cuvée great tannic and aromatic power. This wine is aged for 18 months, spending most of the time in barrels.

Domaine de la Solitude is one of the most traditional wineries in the region. The oldest wine from La Solitude dates back to 1780 and the estate has been in the family since 400. 

Grape variety : Chardonnay.
Age of the vine : 30 years.
Yields and density: 50 hl / ha with 10 000 plants / ha.
Terroir : located at the place called « Les Pellands » at the bottom of a gently sloping hillside. The vines are facing east at a height of 250 metres. Marly soils with stones ( chalky marls).
Way of culture : horse ploughing, earthing up every 3 years. Integrated pest control, organic fertilizer.
Harvest : hand picking in plastic boxes, use of a table to select the grapes.
Fermentation : 100% in oak barrels including 30% new ones. Wine agitated every day, temperature control process at 18 and 19°C.
Maturing : aged in oak casks for 18 months , lees are stirred up every week. Barrels benefit from a 36- month-process of drying ; wood coming from the center of France (fine grained selection). Light, slow and long in wood deepth toasting process.
Wine tasting : nose typical of its appellation : floral, toasted, full with the fruitiness of the Chardonnay. The entry is clean, the palate is fat and elegant, and ends with a mineral finish.
Service : serve it chilled between 12 and 14°C. Cellar it from 2 to 10 years.
