1961 Chateau du Tailhas Grand Vin Pomerol Bordeaux
The limit between Pomerol and Saint-Emilion is said to be the Tailhayat stream by a letter patent on June 7 1289 by Edward I, King of England and Aquitaine. Owned by the Nebout family since 1932, this friendly château follows sustainable winemaking practices, and has vines reaching up to 70 years old. The same family owns Château Paillette Villemaurine in Saint Emilion.
Eleven hectares of vines, close to Château Figeac are on the South side of the plateau of Pomerol, East of Saint-Emilion. This way, the domain is next to “grand appellation” of Saint-Emilion – Figeac region. The sandy soil, with a mix of fine graves stands on an iron scale rich underground. The vines variety is made of 80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc.
The grape picking is made by hand. The wine-making process is made of modern techniques, through fermentation.
