Barolo della Porta Rossa Berzia e Rizzi is created from grapes grown in historical vineyards in the districts of Serralunga and Perno, in the locality of Monforte. The grey compact marl of the soil and the blue one with sand layers afford strength and structure to the wine and bring it into harmony combining elegance and bouquet.The grape variety is Nebbiolo, in its types: Lampia and Michet. The wine cellar of "Porta Rossa" is located in the ancient Napoleon Palace, which was built by Assic, captain of the french army. Enchanted by the territory, Assic chose to build on those hills the building that today is characterized by the ancient red gate. Its historic tradition is enriched by the presence of renowned people like the king Vittorio Emanuele II, who was a wine expert.
