Description of the product
Leone de Castris' Five Roses Rosato Salento is a cuvée made from 90% Negroamaro and 10% Malvasia Nera di Lecce grapes. The Leone de Castris winery produces Five Rosesdal 1943. The name refers to the vineyard name “Five Roses”, and was “anglicised” by Leone de Castris to establish the wine in the American market.
The Leone de Castris winery has been located in Apulia, on the Salento peninsula, since 1665, when the Spanish Duke Oronzo fell in love with Salento and settled there. He soon discovered his passion for viticulture, which in those lands and with the mild climate of the Adriatic, made his wines authentic. Today, Leone de Castris is still the most representative winery in Salento.
