In 1877, two cousins, Ilario and Leopoldo Ruffino, realised their shared dream of producing great wines by founding a small winery in a typical Tuscan landscape where the Arno and Sieve rivers meet, surrounded by hills covered with vineyards and olive groves, and choosing Pontassieve as their headquarters. Ruffino's reputation has been firmly established both nationally and internationally by the numerous awards that Ruffino Chianti has received since the late 19th century and by the first Chianti to be imported into the United States. Aleatico is an ancient grape variety and passito wine in the Tuscan tradition. The grapes are partly vinified immediately and partly only after a drying phase.

Grignolino hails from Piedmont in Northern Italy, a region known for its powerful and hugely tannic red wines made from the Nebbiolo grape. Grignolino wine is obtained from the vine of the same name. Dolcetto possesses thirteen Denominations in Piedmont and, among these, Dolcetto d’Alba is the best known. Dolcetto region can be divided roughly into two wide strips: one stretching towards Barolo and the other running from Alba towards the Belbo Valley, where a particular terroir produces very fine and light Dolcettos. In the High Langa (Alta Langa) region, production continues until Cortemilia where the vine was once widely cultivated along stone terraces. The name of Dolcetto seems to indicate a sweet wine when precisely the opposite is true.

The surface area of the farm is about one hundred and forty-five hectares, most of them located in the municipality of Dogliani, the others on the hills of Cannubi and Terlo Vie Nuove and partly in Treiso. Valle Talloria di Diano d'Alba is a small paradise at the foot of the Langhe hills, in Piedmont where the Giordano family has been producing wine  since 1900. In1950 Ferdinando Giordano, the founder’s grandson was the man behind the great idea to sell directly to individual clients: no middle man, just straight from the winemaker to the consumer. The very traditional winery Bodegas Martinez Bujanda was founded back in 1889 and today has an extremely modern wine cellar and vineyards in the Rioja regions of Alavesa, Alta and Baja. The 1968 Grand Reserva is a so-called late bottling from the barrel.

 In 1844 Luciano Francisco Ramòn de Murrieta, returned to his home near Logrono in Rioja from England, where he  developed an appreciation for wine, recognized that there was nothing wrong with the grapes growing in Rioja's vineyards. The story begins in 1807, in Paris, when the Marquis of Barolo Carlo Tancredi Falletti married Juliette Colbert de Maulévrier, a French noblewoman and the great granddaughter of the Minister of Finance Colbert by Luigi XIV . Juliette saw the great potential of the wine made in Barolo that, after a complete fermentation and a long aging in wood, would have been able to unveil all the qualities typical of the soil and of the grape variety: Nebbiolo. Since 1970, the Castello has been under local ownership. The winery estate, which is located at the center of Barolo, presently belongs to the Abbona family, which purchased in the late 19th century.  The original and distinguished wines produced by Marchesi di Barolo are characterized by a number of highly prestigious native vines and a unique soil composition, with amalgams of clay, limestone marl, blueish marl, tuff, sandstone and sand. In order to better define and enhance their different characteristics, the most prestigious historical crus are made from a single variety, and individually aged and bottled.

During secularization it became the property of the Duke of Nassau and in 1866 it became the property of Prussia, who added large areas of vineyards. The winery became a model business.

The name of the Klosterberg vineyard comes from the old connecting path that went from Eberbach Monastery via the abbey's properties in Kiedrich to the Klostermühle near Eltville, and which led through the vineyard plots as the “Closterweg”.
