L'Apparita is the most famous wine from Castello di Ama and is only available to specialist retailers in limited quantities. In 1985, the wine was the first pure Merlot among the Supertuscans. The expansion takes place for 18 months in barriques.

Castello di Ama is located about 12 miles northeast of Siena in the hills of Gaiole in the heart of Chianti Classico. Ama is a modern estate comprising 500 acres of land, 200 of which are vineyards. Vintage 2010 heralded the introduction of Gran Selezione and the release of the new Chianti Classico, “Ama”.
