Beauregard is located just outside the village of Catusseau, opposite Château Petit-Village. In 1854 Beauregard was sold to M. Durand-Desgranges. replanted the vineyard, extended it to 14 hectares. The Durand-Desgranges family remained at Beauregard until 1920. Two years later the estate was acquired by the doughter of the owner of Château Thotanoy  and Raymond Clauzel, whose family owned Château La Tour de Mons in Soussans The four children remained owners of Château Beauregard until March 1991 when they sold the estate and today it is owned by Foncier Vignobles. Château Beauregard’s wines are composed of merlot and cabernet franc. The 17.5 acres are harvested by hand.

The Pomerol appellation, named after the commune of the same name, with 800 hectares of vineyards, is located on the right bank (rive droite) of the Gironde in the Bordeaux region and, together with St.Emilion and the lesser known Fronsac, forms the counterpart to the Medoc (rive gauche). Its neighbours are the Lalande de Pomerol appellation to the north and Saint-Émilion to the east. Pomerol used to be considered an inferior sub-appellation (astonishing from today's perspective). The first-class Pomerol winery Château Gazin has been owned by the Bailliencourt family since 1917, whose roots go back to the times of the Christian Crusades. The property itself belonged to the Order of Malta. Nicolas Bailliencourt has been running the winery in the fifth generation since 1988 and can claim to have founded Château Gazin's rise to one of the top wineries in Pomerol. The Pomerol appellation, named after the municipality of the same name, has 800 hectares of vineyards and is located east of Haut-Médoc on the right bank of the Gironde in the Bordeaux region.
