A neighbouring estate of Lanessan, Château Lachesnaye is currently owned by the Bouteiller family as well in the commune of Cussac near Fort Médoc. Domaine de Lachesnaye, a former seigneurial land in the parish of Sainte Gemme, belonged in 1793 to the Caupène family, who had inherited it from Sire de La Chesnaye. The estate was bought by Frédéric Exshaw in 1880, who had a château built resembling that of Lanessan. Château Lachesnaye resumed wine production in 1971.

The Listrac-Médoc appellation is situated in the north-west of the Gironde County. This area, baptised The Roof of the Médoc, reaches a height of 43 metres above sea level.

The history of the Chateau Marquis de Terme began in 1762, when Ledoux d'Emplet, wife of François de Peguilhan, Marquis of Terme, gave him as a dowry the estate that would henceforth bear his name. Pommard stands for very dense, seductive red wines. The Pommard appellation, named after the municipality of the same name, with 313 hectares of vineyards is located in the Côte de Beaune part of the Burgundian Côte d'Or. It connects to the municipality of Volnay. The Cistercians had vineyards here as early as the 12th century. The clergyman Claude Arnoux (1695-1770) described this wine in his famous book. Almost exclusively red wines are made from Pinot Noir with proportions of Pinot Gris and Pinot Liébault. There are around 30 Premiers Crus with 128 hectares of vineyards.

The estate originally known simply as Chateau Milon, at one time the estate was known as the second wine of Chateau Lafite. In 1815, the Pauillac property was considered by some people as a fourth growth Bordeaux wine in the making. In those days, the wine was sold under the name of Chateau Mandavy-Milon. Between 1830 and 1840, the Casteja family became the owners of the estate from an inheritance.

The label of Duhart Milon, according to family tradition came about from an old legend written about one of their ancestors, Sir Duhart. Sir Duhart, was rumored to have been a pirate for Louis XV. He settled at Pauillac for retirement. The “pirate’s house” on the Pauillac port existed up to the 1950’s. That original building inspired the label for the Duhart-Milon wines.

The Casteja family remained in possession of Duhart Milon until the first part of the 20th century. In 1962 the Rothschild family purchased the property. The 152 hectare vineyard of Chateau Duhart Milon includes 76 hectares of vines planted to 67% Cabernet Sauvignon and 33% Merlot.

Chateau La Lagune in Ludon, is the first major estate you reach when you travel from Bordeaux through famous Route du Vin. Known in pre-revolutionary times as Chateau Séguineau, after the family who owned it, La Lagune was acquired in 1819 by Jouffrey Piston and in 1855 was classed as troisième cru. Les Beaumonts (or Beaux Monts written) is a 1er Cru location in the vicinity of the famous Richebourg and Romanée-St-Vivant. The soil in the Vosnée-Romanée area has a special mixture of white oolite, marly Premeaux limestone and brown, loamy-calcareous layers. The slope slopes slightly towards the village, which favors the exposure to the sun. The place name Vosne was supplemented by Romanée in 1866. The appellation has 16 Premier Cru sites (a total of 57 hectares) and 6 Grand Cru sites. Only red wines from the Pinot noir grape variety are grown.

The Gevrey Chambertin appellation covers 405 hectares on a hillside and is one of the most important red wine-growing zones of the Côte d'Or in Burgundy. The municipal appellations are at 240 to 280 meters above sea level, the Premier Crus and Grand Crus, as is mostly the case in Burgundy, at 260 to 320 meters above sea level. Gevrey Chambertin is home to 26 Premier Crus and 9 Grand Crus. The noble grape variety Pinot Noir comes into its own here. It was Napoleon's favorite wine.
