Classic Vermentino with aromas of citrus and yellow peaches and floral notes and sage.
The year 2022 was marked by a lack of rain: from winter to early spring only 170 mm of precipitation was recorded. In May, Banfi experienced drought and above-average temperatures. Then came scorching hot days in June, July and mid-August. This resulted in an early harvest of white grape varieties. Vermentino is a late ripening grape variety and well suited to such climatic conditions. The harvest began on September 5th. Thanks to the high ventilation of the vineyards during the hottest hours of the afternoon, the aromas and especially the acidity were perfectly preserved.

Germany is the world's third largest producer of Pinot Noir. As the name implies, it ripens late (spät) and it was brought to Germany from Burgundy. Called Pinot Noir in France, this grape produces elegant, velvety wines with a distinctive bouquet reminiscent of bitter almonds or blackberries. Weingut Höfling is a family-owned winery in Eußenheim situated to the Northwest of Würzburg. Almost all of their vineyards are present on slopes and hilly terrain, and most of all of the work in the vineyards is by hands. The people in the winery work very hard and with a commitment to produce unique Franconian wines that show the qualities of the region. So they uses domestic wood and hometown barrels and like the most prized Franken wines were traditionally bottled in a Bocksbeutel, a squat green or brown flagon with a round body, is by Höfling too.

The Rosso di Montalcino from Banfi is one of the very good small Brunellos of the wine region. 100% Sangiovese from the carefully researched and selected grape variety variations at Banfi - there are a total of about 600 Sangiovese clones with very specific characteristics.
Brunello di Montalcino is a DOCG for dry red wine in the Italian region of Tuscany. The zone includes the slopes around the picturesque hilltop town of Montalcino - 40 kilometres south of Siena in the province of the same name. The wine is made from 100 per cent varietal Sangiovese Brunello. An important aspect of the quality lies in the very special climate, as it is warmer and drier than in the nearby Chianti areas and the nights are cooler. The Castello di Banfi winery was founded by two Italian-Americans from New York, Harry and John Mariani, who had become very wealthy by importing Lambrusco. In the mid-1970s, they created a very ambitious wine project based on the highest quality, which quickly gained great recognition.

Weinviertel is Austria's most important wine region in terms of both its area under vine and the quantity of wine it produces. GrĂĽner Veltliner accounts for more than one half of this area, making Weinviertel home to more than half of all Austrian GrĂĽner Veltliner vines. The Weinviertel type of GrĂĽner Veltliner is recognizable from its spicy "peppery" flavor. The association with green, white and, due to higher ripeness also black pepper is complimented by a fruit-driven bouquet and crisp acidity. From the vintage 2009 on, the powerful Weinviertel DAC Reserve exists beside this classic-dry, fresh type.
The entry-level Grüner Veltliner from Pollerhof. - Loess soil, steel tank. Aromatic, authentic Lössveltliner, apple, on the palate, fruit presence, juicy, fresh, pleasant acidity - says Erwin Poller. Exactly!

y tu de quien eres ? - and who are you ? The question about the Spanish white wine project is justified because the wine comes from a so-called mixed batch. This is how wine was produced almost everywhere: in the vineyard the most diverse grape varieties were mixed next to each other - sometimes unrecognized. The different ripening behavior of the grape varieties helped to compensate for the different weather conditions from year to year. Nowadays, winemakers are experimenting with the mixed batch again and are making lively, fascinating wines.
By the way, here are the white grape varieties: Tardana , Macabeo , Marisancho , Doña Blanca , Albillo , Blanquilla

German most famous and oldest viticulture is the „Steilhange“, steep slopes along the Mosella river. No wonder that Weingut Milz can praise such a long winemaking tradition and history. Since 1520, the Milz family has been known as great winemakers in Trittenheim, a wine village in the well-known Moselschleife. Parts of the original 1680 wine cellar are today still visible. Milz’s wines are quite classic Riesling from the Mosel, since they present the ideal alcohol level, delicatesugar residue and an extremely long finish. In 1900, these wines used to be the most expensive in any European restaurant’s menu, even more high-priced than the best Burgundies and Bordeaux wines.

The Hacienda López de Haro is located in the heart of the Rioja Alta, near the historic town of San Vincente de la Sonsierra, one of the places with the longest wine-growing tradition. The region offers the best conditions for the Tempranillo grape variety. The vineyards are protected in the north by the Toloño Mountains, the climate in the south is positively influenced by the Ebro River. The Bodegas has 5000 barriques in which the red wines acquire elegance and softness.
The northern Spanish wine-growing region of La Rioja stretches along the Ebro River. The vineyards are cultivated on calcareous and clayey soils. The red wines from Rioja are traditionally always a cuvée, i.e. a blend of different grape varieties. The most important is Tempranillo, followed by Garnacha Tinta (fr. Grenache Noir), Mazuelo (fr. Carignan) and Graciano.

Malvasia Nera is the more fruity version of Negroamaro with the best results in Puglia and Tuscany. The Sampietrana winery was founded in 1952 as a cooperative. The vines for Malvasia are more than 50 years old.
The Italian region of Apulia (Puglia) with its capital Bari is located deep in the south on the Adriatic coast. The elongated region consists of the spur (the Gargano Mountains) and the heel (the Salento Peninsula) of the boot. The area is one of the oldest wine-growing regions in the world, as the Phoenicians and Greeks planted vines here 3,000 years ago. The Romans particularly valued the wine from Tarentum (port city of Taranto) and the poet Horace (65-8 BC) described this area as a place of “eternal spring”. In contrast to the other southern regions, there are hardly any mountains, but the landscape consists of plateaus and flatlands. The climate is dry and hot with little rainfall, so artificial irrigation is sometimes necessary. The soils consist primarily of limestone, clay and sandstone. Puglia has the most grape varieties in southern Italy, around 80 percent of which are red.

Côtes de Bourg is an Appellation d'origine contrôlée (AOC) for Bordeaux wine situated around the small town of Bourg-sur-Gironde near Bordeaux, France. The first vineyards in the area were founded by the Romans. In the Middle Ages, Bourg was a major port for wine and the vineyards developed at the same tempo as the estuary traffic. Red Côtes de Bourg are garnet in colour and are predominantly based on the Merlot grape, blended with smaller quantities of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Some Chateaux still use Malbec as part of the blend. The vine has been established in le Bourgeais for centuries and the current varieties have been selected because of their performance in relation to the soil. The Côtes de Bourg are characterized by the diversity and richness of their soils.
Although the CĂ´tes de Bourg is composed of mainly clay and limestone soils, their make-up is so rich that there is a veritable mosaic of sand and gravel in the area around Pugnac. Three types are predominant. Firstly, the Sienna-red Quaternary alluvium that is quite specific to the region and situated more on the heights: Merlot and Malbec are widely cultivated. Merlot and Cabernet are planted on clay and sandy gravel soils while Merlot is also grown on the widespread areas of clay and limestone.

In the meantime, however, ambitious winegrowers are again relying on the red grape variety to produce extraordinary wines. The hilltops of Sancerre vineyards spread through 14 villages. The two grape varieties in Sancerre are the Sauvignon Blanc and the Pinot Noir. They have gained the AOC status in 1936. The red and rosé wines, made from the noble Pinot Noir, followed in 1959 when they were awarded the AOC accreditation.
The red wines illustrate the virtues of Pinot Noir. They offer a bouquets of cherry and morellos.
In the 12th century, cultivation of vines was given added impetus through the combined efforts of the Augustine monks in St-Satur and the ruling counts of Sancerre. At that time Sancerre was famous for its red wine, produced predominantly from the Pinot Noir grape, and exported from the region along the Loire. This wine is often mentioned in accounts of life at the royal court. The famous wine of Sancerre was, in the opinion of Duke Jean de Berry, indeed the finest wine to be found in the entire kingdom.

Saperavi is the most important autochthonous grape variety from Georgia, Ukraine, Moldavia and Romania and produces spicy, medium-heavy wines with sophisticated wines. The light-footed, elegant, bitter-sweet Riesling from the Nik Weis winery comes from the slate vineyards on the Saar. The St.Urbans-Hof today covers 40 hectares and looks back on several centuries of wine-growing history. Fine, spicy aromas of elderberry, lilac and chamomile make the wine stand out from comparable Rieslings (by the way, Robert Parker also thinks so).

In Puglia there is a peculiar tradition for wines - the wines are succinctly named according to their alcohol content (and in this case that means their intensity): 14/20 is the classic balanced Primitivo with precise fruit and 14% alcohol. A Primitivo that is different from the mainstream: salty with herbal aromas, absolutely dry. If you know them, you can smell the typical wild capers of southern Italy. No wonder, the vineyards are only a few hundred meters from the coast. Le Fiatte is run by the 4th generation of the Bisci family. They only produce a small number of wine types - a Primitivo, a Fiano, a Negroamaro Rosé - but with consistency and independence in terms of quality.
Calcium-rich soil of corsican origin, enriched with red iron oxide (typical of the Salento soil). The limestone soils are cool and have good water retention, allowing the vines' root system to penetrate deeply and providing excellent drainage. After the first pressing, the grapes undergo a maceration of 8-10 days.
The red grape variety Primitivo is mainly cultivated in the southern Italian region of Apulia. It probably comes from Croatia/Dalmatia and was given its name in the 17th century by Benedictine monks due to its early maturity (Latin primativus = first-mover). From there it probably found its way to Italy and also to Germany via Austria under the name Blauer Scheuchner. Since it was first detected near the mountain town of Gioia, it is also called Primitivo di Gioia. It produces deep, dark, spicy and high-alcohol red wines and is often used as a blending partner for late-ripening varieties. According to Dr. According to DNA analyzes carried out by Carole Meredith in 2001 at the University of California in collaboration with Croatian grape specialists, the Primitivo is identical to the Californian Zinfandel.
