1966 Chateau La Tour Blanche Cru Bourgeois Médoc Bordeaux
The Médoc peninsula is situated in the south-west of France between the Atlantic and the Gironde estuary. The Médoc, created by water, is an entirely sedimentary region. Some 50 million years ago, the Aquitaine Basin was a vast, tropical sea. Over the centuries, the surging waters drained vast quantities of sedimentary deposits which gradually accumulated to form the soils and sub-soils of the Médoc. Relatively warm and humid, with regular sunshine, the Médoc benefits above all from gentle, soft breezes. The Médoc benefits from specific microclimates offering the wines of the different appellations a host of possibilities in terms of grape varieties, harvesting ,and cropping in general. One of the features of the physiognomy of the Médoc AOC is the existence of very small wineries.
