The red wine from the grape variety Sankt Laurent comes from the Seewinkel region in Burgenland, which is characterised by very dry, stony and mineral soils. Côtes de Bourg is an Appellation d'origine contrôlée (AOC) for Bordeaux wine situated around the small town of Bourg-sur-Gironde near Bordeaux, France. The first vineyards in the area were founded by the Romans. In the Middle Ages, Bourg was a major port for wine and the vineyards developed at the same tempo as the estuary traffic. Red Côtes de Bourg are garnet in colour and are predominantly based on the Merlot grape, blended with smaller quantities of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Some Chateaux still use Malbec as part of the blend. The vine has been established in le Bourgeais for centuries and the current varieties have been selected because of their performance in relation to the soil. The Côtes de Bourg are characterized by the diversity and richness of their soils.
Although the Côtes de Bourg is composed of mainly clay and limestone soils, their make-up is so rich that there is a veritable mosaic of sand and gravel in the area around Pugnac. Three types are predominant. Firstly, the Sienna-red Quaternary alluvium that is quite specific to the region and situated more on the heights: Merlot and Malbec are widely cultivated. Merlot and Cabernet are planted on clay and sandy gravel soils while Merlot is also grown on the widespread areas of clay and limestone.

In 1844 Luciano Francisco Ramòn de Murrieta, returned to his home near Logrono in Rioja from England, where he  developed an appreciation for wine, recognized that there was nothing wrong with the grapes growing in Rioja's vineyards. The only problem was that the wine was not being produced correctly. Determined to obtain sufficient knowledge on winemaking to make a good modern wine, he went to Bordeaux, where he studied both grape growing and winemaking techniques. Four years later, he began producing wine in Rioja using local grapes, mostly Garnacha and Tempranillo, the 1852 vintage being the first of what today is considered traditional Rioja, a red aged in oak casks, marked by the taste of both fruit and wood, and possessing the potential for extended cellaring.

The hilltops of Sancerre vineyards spread through 14 villages. The two grape varieties  in Sancerre are the Sauvignon Blanc and the Pinot Noir. They have gained the AOC status in 1936. The red and rosé wines, made from the noble Pinot Noir, followed in 1959 when they were awarded the AOC accreditation.

In the 12th century, cultivation of vines was given added impetus through the combined efforts of the Augustine monks in St-Satur and the ruling counts of Sancerre. At that time Sancerre was famous for its red wine, produced predominantly from the Pinot Noir grape, and exported from the region along the Loire. This wine is often mentioned in accounts of life at the royal court. The famous wine of Sancerre was, in the opinion of Duke Jean de Berry, indeed the finest wine to be found in the entire kingdom.

More than 1000 years ago, it was a monastery, but for over 3 centuries now San Leonardo has served as the residence of the Marquis Guerrieri Gonzaga family, its proud custodians. Today, the San Leonardo estate is a garden of vineyards and roses, protected by the massive barrier of the Alps, which blunt the force of the cold northern winds, while the valley floor benefits from, and in turn releases, warmth from nearby Lake Garda. The Tenuta remains an ancient world, in which winemaking practices, still uncompromisingly artisanal, yield wines that are true gems of Italy’s wine tradition, marked by freshness, harmony, and an innate elegance.

Domina is a red wine grape, crossing of Portugieser and Spätburgunder. It is a fairly fruitful variety Domina wines are pleasant, full-bodied and deep in colour. Powerful, fruity wine from the south of France. The multi-gold Château de Ciffre comprises 33 hectares of vineyards in the AOC Saint-Chinian, which have been cultivated organically and biodynamically since 2009. The grape blend is 60% Syrah and 40% Grenache.

The entire Rhone Valley is frequently referred to as the Cotes du Rhone. This is also the name of the generic appellation that covers more than 100 communes in the region north of Avignon. The primary varieties cultivated here are Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault and Carignan. A number of villages have the right to call their wines Cotes du Rhone-Villages, or to append the actual name of the village. Wines designated Villages are generally a step up in quality

A concentrated Barbera with intense fruit is produced on 0.3 hectares in the Bricco San Biagio vineyard in La Morra. The vines were planted in this plot shortly after World War II. The Ciabot Berton winery has existed since 1876.

Marsannay is situated in the Côte de Nuits region between Dijon and Gevrey-Chambertin. The Fixin appellation, which received official recognition in 1936, produces both appellations Village and Premier Cru. The Premiers Crus plots are on reasonably homogenous brown limestone soils with east to south-east exposures and at 350 to 380 metres of altitude. Production is largely of reds (Pinot Noir) but there are some plots of white (Chardonnay).

The wines of the 27 hectare family winery are made in a classic way and designed for a long maturity. When young, the wines often appear brittle due to the presence of tannins.
The history of the famous Châteauneuf du Pape appellation in the southern section of the Rhône is closely linked to the popes. In the years 1309 to 1377 the city of Avignon was the seat of the popes and from 1378 to 1408 of two anti-popes. One of them was Pope John XXII, who was born in Cahors. (1244-1334), who chose Châteauneuf Castle as his summer residence and gave important impetus to viticulture. The 3,140-hectare area was France's first state-recognized appellation.

Château du Tertre is one of the oldest properties in the Medoc region of Bordeaux. Early records show that the estate was owned by Thomas de Montaigne, a nobleman in the 1590's, and in the late seventeenth century the Marquis de Segur was the owner. 1n 1997, a Dutch businessman, Eric Albada Jelgersma bought the estate and invested in the large-scale overall restructuring, thus returning its former noble personality to the Chateau du Tertre. The vineyard is composed to 45 % Cabernet-sauvignon, 30 % Merlot, 20 % Cabernet franc, 5 % Petit verdot.
