Wine 2017
The 2017 vintage was affected by the April frost in many places. Unfavourable vineyard sites suffered high losses. As the year progressed, 2017 was similar to the previous year - warm, very dry weather. Due to the water stress, the grapes remained small and thick-skinned. Complex, dense aromas and a good tannin structure are the result. The grape harvest ... took place very early in 2017 and was completed in a short time. The harvest quantities were small in 2017, but the quality was again excellent.

The entire Rhone Valley is frequently referred to as the Cotes du Rhone. This is also the name of the generic appellation that covers more than 100 communes in the region north of Avignon. The primary varieties cultivated here are Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault and Carignan. A number of villages have the right to call their wines Cotes du Rhone-Villages, or to append the actual name of the village. Wines designated Villages are generally a step up in quality

Soft, dense red wine with a delicate scent of violets. The origins of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano go back to the year 1300; the wine was already famous and much praised throughout Europe in the Middle Ages. The Italian poet Francesco Redi (1626-1698) called him the “King of Wines” in his poem “Bacchus in Tuscany”. The best wine has traditionally always been reserved for the Pope and the Curia in the Vatican. This is where the addition or decorative nickname “Vino Nobile”, which was only used in the 18th century, comes from, the wine for the distinguished – the nobility.
The best areas (clay and sandy soil) are Argiano, Caggiole, Canneto, Casalte and Valiano. The wine is made from Prugnolo Gentile, a Sangiovese clone.

Château Meyney is one of the oldest estates in the Médoc. In 1662, it was a Convent mentioned in records under the name Prieuré des Couleys. The estate belonged to the Luetkens family for several generations, and was then acquired by Mr Désiré Cordier in 1919.
Today, the estate stretches over some of the best hilltops above the Gironde Estuary. The vineyard of 51 hectares is planted with Cabernet Sauvignon 60%, Merlot 30% et Petit Verdot 10%.
The Cru Bourgeois classification lists some of the châteaux from the Médoc that were not included in the 1855 Classification of Crus Classés, or Classed Growths. Notionally, Cru Bourgeois is a level below Cru Classé, but still of high quality. Only nine Chateaux with Cru Bourgeois status take part of the higher level Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel.

A single-varietal Carignan for wine lovers. Aged unfiltered and without wood in cement vats, this intense, full-bodied red wine is characterized by ripe cherry fruit and a hint of anise. A perfect balance of minerality, acidity, and tannins from an impressively barren landscape.
Priorat is an ancient Spanish wine region that fell into oblivion with the phylloxera epidemic in the 19th century and was only rediscovered by young winemakers in the 1980s and became a cult. Typical are the cuvées of Granacha and Carinyena (Carignan). Both grape varieties tolerate the mild, rather dry climate excellently and are characterised in their aroma by the dark slate soil of the Priorat.
