The red wine from the grape variety Sankt Laurent comes from the Seewinkel region in Burgenland, which is characterised by very dry, stony and mineral soils. The region is one of the hottest and driest wine-growing areas in Austria and thus provides ideal conditions for the production of red wines full of character.

In 1844 Luciano Francisco Ramòn de Murrieta, returned to his home near Logrono in Rioja from England, where he  developed an appreciation for wine, recognized that there was nothing wrong with the grapes growing in Rioja's vineyards. The only problem was that the wine was not being produced correctly. Determined to obtain sufficient knowledge on winemaking to make a good modern wine, he went to Bordeaux, where he studied both grape growing and winemaking techniques. Four years later, he began producing wine in Rioja using local grapes, mostly Garnacha and Tempranillo, the 1852 vintage being the first of what today is considered traditional Rioja, a red aged in oak casks, marked by the taste of both fruit and wood, and possessing the potential for extended cellaring.

The hilltops of Sancerre vineyards spread through 14 villages. The two grape varieties  in Sancerre are the Sauvignon Blanc and the Pinot Noir. They have gained the AOC status in 1936. The red and rosé wines, made from the noble Pinot Noir, followed in 1959 when they were awarded the AOC accreditation.

The red wines illustrate the virtues of Pinot Noir. They offer a bouquets of cherry and morellos. 

In the 12th century, cultivation of vines was given added impetus through the combined efforts of the Augustine monks in St-Satur and the ruling counts of Sancerre. At that time Sancerre was famous for its red wine, produced predominantly from the Pinot Noir grape, and exported from the region along the Loire. This wine is often mentioned in accounts of life at the royal court. The famous wine of Sancerre was, in the opinion of Duke Jean de Berry, indeed the finest wine to be found in the entire kingdom.

Château Lanessan is a Bordeaux wine estate in the Haut-Médoc appellation. It describes itself as Grand Cru Hors Classé and this refers to the fact that one of the previous owners felt it unnecessary to submit samples for the 1855 Classification and consequently ist traditional ranking as a 4ème Cru Classé was never ratified. Lanessan is located just to the south of Gruaud-Larose in the commune of Cussac-Fort-Médoc and has 40 hectares of vineyards.

Powerful, fruity wine from the south of France. The multi-gold Château de Ciffre comprises 33 hectares of vineyards in the AOC Saint-Chinian, which have been cultivated organically and biodynamically since 2009. The grape blend is 60% Syrah and 40% Grenache.

The entire Rhone Valley is frequently referred to as the Cotes du Rhone. A concentrated Barbera with intense fruit is produced on 0.3 hectares in the Bricco San Biagio vineyard in La Morra. The vines were planted in this plot shortly after World War II. The Ciabot Berton winery has existed since 1876.

The Puritani is the cru of Valenti. The grapes come from a lava plot at an altitude of 600-800 meters. The vines here are still rooted! The Valenti winery is relatively young. It was only founded in 2004. The soils are among the best on Etna and in Sicily in general - Passopisciaro in the municipality of Castiglione di Sizilia. Etna Rosso is a DOC for dry red wines in the Italian region (island) of Sicily. The wines from Etna are reminiscent of Pinot Noir or even more so of German Pinot Noir - mineral, with fresh cherry fruit and careful oak aging.

Château Meyney is one of the oldest estates in the Médoc. In 1662, it was a Convent mentioned in records under the name Prieuré des Couleys. The estate belonged to the Luetkens family for several generations, and was then acquired by Mr Désiré Cordier in 1919.
Today, the estate stretches over some of the best hilltops above the Gironde Estuary. The vineyard of 51 hectares is planted with Cabernet Sauvignon 60%, Merlot 30% et Petit Verdot 10%.
The Cru Bourgeois classification lists some of the châteaux from the Médoc that were not included in the 1855 Classification of Crus Classés, or Classed Growths. Notionally, Cru Bourgeois is a level below Cru Classé, but still of high quality. Only nine Chateaux with Cru Bourgeois status take part of the higher level Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel.

Château du Tertre is one of the oldest properties in the Medoc region of Bordeaux. Early records show that the estate was owned by Thomas de Montaigne, a nobleman in the 1590's, and in the late seventeenth century the Marquis de Segur was the owner. 1n 1997, a Dutch businessman, Eric Albada Jelgersma bought the estate and invested in the large-scale overall restructuring, thus returning its former noble personality to the Chateau du Tertre.
