A direct, precise red wine from Bodegas Aradón. The winery was founded in 1864 and is now one of the most important in the region. The cuvée of Granacha, Graciano and Tempranillo was aged in French oak barriques for 12 months.
The northern Spanish wine-growing region of La Rioja stretches along the River Ebro. The vineyards are grown on calcareous and clayey soils. In 1844 Luciano Francisco Ramòn de Murrieta, returned to his home near Logrono in Rioja from England, where he developed an appreciation for wine, recognized that there was nothing wrong with the grapes growing in Rioja's vineyards. The only problem was that the wine was not being produced correctly. Determined to obtain sufficient knowledge on winemaking to make a good modern wine, he went to Bordeaux, where he studied both grape growing and winemaking techniques. Four years later, he began producing wine in Rioja using local grapes, mostly Garnacha and Tempranillo, the 1852 vintage being the first of what today is considered traditional Rioja, a red aged in oak casks, marked by the taste of both fruit and wood, and possessing the potential for extended cellaring.

The hilltops of Sancerre vineyards spread through 14 villages. The two grape varieties in Sancerre are the Sauvignon Blanc and the Pinot Noir. They have gained the AOC status in 1936. The red and rosé wines, made from the noble Pinot Noir, followed in 1959 when they were awarded the AOC accreditation.
The red wines illustrate the virtues of Pinot Noir. They offer a bouquets of cherry and morellos.
In the 12th century, cultivation of vines was given added impetus through the combined efforts of the Augustine monks in St-Satur and the ruling counts of Sancerre. At that time Sancerre was famous for its red wine, produced predominantly from the Pinot Noir grape, and exported from the region along the Loire. This wine is often mentioned in accounts of life at the royal court. The famous wine of Sancerre was, in the opinion of Duke Jean de Berry, indeed the finest wine to be found in the entire kingdom.

The classical dry red wine comes from the appellation Graves. Graves (from French: gravelly land) is an important subregion of the Bordeaux wine region. Graves is situated on the left bank of the Garonne river, in the upstream part of the region, southeast of the city Bordeaux. The name Graves derives from ist intensely gravelly soil. The soil is the result of glaciers from the Ice Age, which also left white quartz deposits that can still be found in the soil of some of the top winemaking estates. Typical for the left bank wines (Médoc) is the blend of grapes with Cabernet Sauvignon as the predominant grape. The others are Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec.

Cabernet Sauvignon is a vine variety favoured in the production of great reds destined for long-term ageing. Thanks to an incredible capacity to adapt to different climates, it is the most diffuse vine in the entire world. Altavilla della Corte Cabernet Sauvignon is a label with a single varietal Cabernet Sauvignon which attests to the surprising versatility of this French vine, and, at the same time, Sicily’s natural propensity for quality viticulture. The grapes cultivated at Borgo Guarini perfectly highlight the synergy between the land and the art of winemaking, which, as ever, characterises Firriato’s wines.

A rare Arneis Reserve! The wine shows the full potential of the white grape variety with a longer maturation period and longer shelf life. Contrary to what one might expect, the Riserva is also exclusively in the stainless steel tank and the bottle. Arneis is the typical white wine of Piedmont. The grape variety of the same name was already known in the 15th century. It is relatively low in acidity, produces fragrant wines to be drunk young, with fine fruit and at the same time a strong body. Due to its susceptibility to downy mildew, Arneis almost became extinct a few years ago. It has experienced a renaissance since the 1990s.
The DOCG Roero Arneis was finally created in 2005.
The sandy hills of the Roero wine-growing region in Piedmont, across from the Barolo heartland, lend themselves particularly well to Arneis.
Pierangelo Careglio's winery is an ambitious family business that was founded in 1986 on very old vineyards with 9 hectares of vineyards. Typical for Roero is the sandy soil with clay and limestone parts. The wines from here are more aromatic and robust than their relatives from the Barolo region.

Germany is the world's third largest producer of Pinot Noir. As the name implies, it ripens late (spät) and it was brought to Germany from Burgundy. Called Pinot Noir in France, this grape produces elegant, velvety wines with a distinctive bouquet reminiscent of bitter almonds or blackberries. Weingut Höfling is a family-owned winery in Eußenheim situated to the Northwest of Würzburg. Almost all of their vineyards are present on slopes and hilly terrain, and most of all of the work in the vineyards is by hands. The people in the winery work very hard and with a commitment to produce unique Franconian wines that show the qualities of the region. So they uses domestic wood and hometown barrels and like the most prized Franken wines were traditionally bottled in a Bocksbeutel, a squat green or brown flagon with a round body, is by Höfling too.

Present fruit with fine tannins from the 1er Grand Cru winery Château Belair Monange. The grapes from the young vines flow into the wine, which is classified as Grand Cru Saint Emilion.
Château Belair is a 1er Grand Cru Classé and neighbor of Château Ausone. It has an extraordinary history: since the 15th century, Belair was owned by the influential Canolles family, which even survived the expropriations of the French Revolution. In the 19th century it was one of the most sought-after wineries of all. Then a change of ownership and the phylloxera disaster destroyed the winery's primacy. Of course, it always remained at the 1er Grand Cru level. In 2008 Belair was bought by the Moueix wine dynasty (Pétrus and many more).

Côtes de Bourg is an Appellation d'origine contrôlée (AOC) for Bordeaux wine situated around the small town of Bourg-sur-Gironde near Bordeaux, France. The first vineyards in the area were founded by the Romans. In the Middle Ages, Bourg was a major port for wine and the vineyards developed at the same tempo as the estuary traffic. Red Côtes de Bourg are garnet in colour and are predominantly based on the Merlot grape, blended with smaller quantities of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Some Chateaux still use Malbec as part of the blend. The vine has been established in le Bourgeais for centuries and the current varieties have been selected because of their performance in relation to the soil. The Côtes de Bourg are characterized by the diversity and richness of their soils.
Although the Côtes de Bourg is composed of mainly clay and limestone soils, their make-up is so rich that there is a veritable mosaic of sand and gravel in the area around Pugnac. Three types are predominant. Firstly, the Sienna-red Quaternary alluvium that is quite specific to the region and situated more on the heights: Merlot and Malbec are widely cultivated. Merlot and Cabernet are planted on clay and sandy gravel soils while Merlot is also grown on the widespread areas of clay and limestone.

Milz's estate wine benefits from its origins in the winery's great locations and is surprisingly suitable for aging. In Trittenheim the Moselle turns 180° and gives the beautiful estate wine from Milz its name. Viticulture on the steep slopes of the Moselle is one of the oldest and most important in Germany. No wonder that the Milz winery can also look back on a very long history. The Milz family has been a winemaker in Trittenheim on the Moselle loop since 1520, parts of the still existing wine cellar date from 1680. Milz's wines are classic Moselle Rieslings, the ideal type of low-alcohol, light, residually sweet Kabinett with an extremely long shelf life. These are exactly the wines that were more expensive than the best Burgundies and Bordeaux on restaurant menus in Europe around 1900..

Silvaner is an old variety that once was the most important grape in Germany. It likes average exposure to sunshine and needs moist soil. Silvaner is generally best enjoyed while it is young. Especially, it is found in Franken, Rheinhessen and Saale-Unstrut.

The Herrenberg Grosse Gewächs. The 19-hectare vineyard borders the Abtsberg and is benefiting from climate change. The wines are spicy, intense, with a certain creaminess. The Maximin Grünhaus vineyard has only Grand Cru sites. The vineyards of the old estate on the Ruwer are situated in a spectacular location: the Abtsberg, Herrenberg and Bruderberg vineyards extend in a row from the small Ruwer river and the south-facing von Schubert family manor house. The soil consists of bluish Devonian slate on a steep slope.
The classification of German wines is very different from that of Italy. The VDP (Verband Deutscher Prädikatsweingüter) is the Association of Quality German Winegrowers, and brings together the producers who can offer the highest results, very similar to the organisation of Burgundy territories. Furthermore, wines that are only made from grapes from certain plots of the best vineyards are called VDP Grosse Lage, similar to the 'Grand Cru' in Bourgogne. In this bottle of Riesling, the parcel is in Herrenberg. And finally within the Grosse Lage there are the Grosses Gewächs (GG), the dry wines in this category.
