The Marsala wine comes from the western lands of Sicily and its name derives from the homonymous town. The Marsala is the oldest Italian DOC wine, with an average alcohol content of about 18 degrees.The Marsala wine owes its birth to a storm which in 1773 forced John Woodhouse, a rich and famous merchant of Liverpool, to land with his ship in the port of Marsala instead of Mazara del Vallo, where he was going to close a deal. When he landed in this Sicilian town, Woodhouse went into a tavern in the port, where he tasted the ‘Perpetum’, a strong local wine similar to Madeira or Porto, which were so appreciated by English people. So he decided to buy a large supply of that wine, which he wanted to sell in England.  Woodhouse added an amount of alcohol to those barrels of wine, so increasing the alcohol content of that wine and ensuring its preservation up to its destination. The first expedition was an incredible success. All the barrels were sold in a few days and this convinced Woodhouse to return permanently to Sicily in order to develop a new and stable business.

Sauternes is located about 25 miles south east from the city center of Bordeaux, at the Southern end of Graves. The entire Sauternes appellation has 2,002 hectares under vine. This can be divided into 5 separate communes, each with their own unique terroir.

German most famous and oldest viticulture is the „Steilhange“, steep slopes along the Mosella river. No wonder that Weingut Milz can praise such a long winemaking tradition and history. Since 1520, the Milz family has been known as great winemakers in Trittenheim, a wine village in the well-known Moselschleife. Parts of the original 1680 wine cellar are today still visible. Milz’s wines are quite classic Riesling from the Mosel, since they present the ideal alcohol level, delicatesugar residue and an extremely long finish. In 1900, these wines used to be the most expensive in any European restaurant’s menu, even more high-priced than the best Burgundies and Bordeaux wines.

The Apotheke vineyard is located in front of Trittenheim on the right bank of the Mosella. This region is famous for his 40%-60% incline. Soil is rocky and made up of green-blue Devon – altered slate that during the day stores the sun heat on the west-southern slopes and at night gives it back to the vine. This phenomenon allows the growing Riesling to properly ripen. The vineyard is located at 150-200 metres above sea level and stretches across 72 hectares.

The peculiar name „Apotheke“ was not chosen because of a special healing effect of these wines, as you could guess, but it results form the alteration of the name „Abteiberg“: the hill were the old Trier Abbey was locarted. Until 1909 winemakers had to use a ferry to reach their vineyards. In the core area of the region the original docking pier still survives.

The very complex geology of the Saint-Chinian chain is present on the estate, where a mosaic of different terroirs can be found. The Saint-Chinian Causse Du Bousquet comes from a selection from low-yielding plots, mainly on the limestone plateau. Franschhoek is located in the South African province of Western Cape. The name of the village means "French Angle" and refers to its foundation in 1688, when several hundred emigrated Huguenots from France settled in the small village. Some of them were winegrowers who quickly recognised the potential of the terroir and used it for winegrowing. In 1694, the French Huguenot Pierre Jourdan was given a farm, which he then christened Cabriere, named after his hometown in the south of France. In 1982, the estate was bought by Achim von Arnim.
The Franschhoek Valley is surrounded by mountains on three sides and receives late morning and long evening sun. This favours slow and balanced ripening, resulting in fruit-driven flavour profiles. The above-average rainfall and cooler temperatures compared to neighbouring regions contribute to the minerality of the flavour profiles.
The top vineyards are reminiscent of Burgundy and are responsible for specialising in the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grape varieties.

The vineyard name Doosberg comes from Dachsberg. The Rheingau vineyards have humus-rich loess soils with clayey loess loam and good water storage, and is oriented to the south and south-west with a 30° slope. Campoleone is a red IGT from Umbria and is the primary wine of the estate. It is composed of 50% Sangiovese and 50% Merlot produced from vineyards located within the area of Lake Trasimeno and the beautiful medieval village of Panicale, in Umbria. The property was purchased in the 60’s by Ferruccio Lamborghini. In the 1950s, the Clos des Menuts only covered one hectare of vineyards. The Faugères appellation is located 25 km north of Béziers and nestles on the first foothills of the Black Mountain between the valley of the Orb and the plain of Béziers. The vineyards are situated at an average altitude of about 250 m above sea level on steep slopes of the Montagne Noire, which is geologically an extension of the Cévennes in a broader sense. Domenico Clerico is one of the most well-respected legends in Barolo. The very old estate Fonplegade is today owned by the Moueix family and is located in the Saint-Émilion area and is classified as Grand Cru Classé. It stretches over 18 hectares of contiguous vineyards on the southern side of the Côte area. It is planted exclusively with Merlot (60%) and Cabernet Franc (40%) since, as often happened in Saint-Émilion, Cabernet Sauvignon is no longer used in the blend. Fonplegade is one of the oldest wineries in the Appellation and some archeological remains of the Gallo-Roman viticulture are still visible in the estate.

Located not far from the picturesque St. Emilion village, the 7 hectar vineyard of Cadet Piola is planted to 51% Merlot, 28% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Cabernet Franc and 3% Malbec. Nebbiolo is a red Italian wine grape variety predominantly associated with the Piedmont region where it makes the wines of Barolo, Barbaresco, Nebbiolo and Gattinara. Prior to 1894, Nebbiolo grapes were sold to make Barolo wine or simply labelled "Nebbiolo di Barbaresco". Château Camensac borders on the Saint-Julien appellation, in the commune of Saint-Laurent-de-Médoc, surrounded by other excellent classed growths such as La Tour Carnet and Belgrave. Camensac means on the water's way, and comes from the words "camens", which means path or way and "ac", which means water in local dialect. In 1965 it was bought by the Forner brothers, who also own the well-known Marques de Carceres bodega in Rioja. The two brothers replanted most of the 85 hectares of vineyards, the balance now being 60% cabernet sauvignon and 40% merlot. They also renovated the cuverie and the cellars and hired the renowned Bordeaux oenologist Emile Peynaud as a consultant. he Merlaut family acquired Camensac in time for the 2005 vintage. Céline Villars-Loubet who owns Chasse-Spleen and her husband, Jean-Pierre Foubet are now in charge of the estate.

The Pfannenstielhof looks back on a long and eventful history. First mentioned in a document in 1561, the farm has been owned by the Pfeifer family for seven generations since 1816 and is therefore considered a hereditary farm. In the St. Magdalener Classico, the Vernatsch grapes grow as a mixed set with about 5% Lagrein on moraine debris soils of quartz porphyry and dolomite material and are fermented in stainless steel tanks. After malolactic fermentation, the wine matures for about six months in stainless steel tanks.
