Bardolino is a small village on the East coast of Lake Garda. Goethe, the German poet, visited the area and remained enchanted by its atmosphere. Bardolino is a particularly pleasant wine that collects a lo of wine qualities like the mild climate, the exposition to the sunshine, the perfect balancing between rains and temperature, the variety of soils (sand, pebbles and clay) and the passion and ability of the producers. The grape blend is the same of Valpolicella wines: mainly Corvina, Rondinella and Moinara, but the result is a completely different wine even if Valpolicella is only few kilometers from Bardolino wine producing area. Bardolino can be called Superiore when it has an alcoholic percentage of at least 12° and is aged for at least one year. To meet the quality standards expected from a DOCG wine, Barodolino producers had to reduce the yield per hectar by introducing vine clones focusing on quality rather than on quantity. A careful selection of the best grapes is also operated in the vineyards during harvest.

The Pommard appellation, named after the municipality of the same name, with 313 hectares of vineyards is located in the Côte de Beaune part of the Burgundian Côte d'Or. It connects to the municipality of Volnay. The Cistercians owned vineyards here as early as the 12th century. The clergyman Claude Arnoux (1695-1770) described this wine in his famous book.  In 1844 Luciano Francisco Ramòn de Murrieta, returned to his home near Logrono in Rioja from England, where he  developed an appreciation for wine, recognized that there was nothing wrong with the grapes growing in Rioja's vineyards. Domaine Arlaud was created in 1942 with the marriage of Joseph Arlaud, a man from Ardèche, and Renée Amiot, a woman from a family with deep roots in the Burgundian wine culture. The bride’s dowry brought parcels in excellent vineyards, which Joseph supplemented by shrewd acquisitions, beginning in 1949. The highly traded Château Rouget was first mentioned in 1700. The Bayonne family owned the winery for a long time. In the 18th century it was ranked among the top five wineries in Pomerol. Chateau La Lagune in Ludon, is the first major estate you reach when you travel from Bordeaux through famous Route du Vin. Known in pre-revolutionary times as Chateau Séguineau, after the family who owned it, La Lagune was acquired in 1819 by Jouffrey Piston and in 1855 was classed as troisième cru. Third Grand Cru Classé in 1855, Château Boyd-Cantenac was founded in 1754  by Jacques Boyd. After few years of the Classification the estate was divided into Boyd-Cantenac and Cantenac-Brown. Its 17 hectares of vineyards are located west of the village of Cantenac in the Margaux appellation. The soil is rocky-gravely and the vines are more than thirty five years old on average and are composed of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc, and 7% Petit Verdot.
It is one of the Crus still owned and operated by one family.
