The Rosso di Montalcino from Banfi is one of the very good small Brunellos of the wine region. 100% Sangiovese from the carefully researched and selected grape variety variations at Banfi - there are a total of about 600 Sangiovese clones with very specific characteristics.

Brunello di Montalcino is a DOCG for dry red wine in the Italian region of Tuscany. The zone includes the slopes around the picturesque hilltop town of Montalcino - 40 kilometres south of Siena in the province of the same name. The wine is made from 100 per cent varietal Sangiovese Brunello. An important aspect of the quality lies in the very special climate, as it is warmer and drier than in the nearby Chianti areas and the nights are cooler. The Castello di Banfi winery was founded by two Italian-Americans from New York, Harry and John Mariani, who had become very wealthy by importing Lambrusco. In the mid-1970s, they created a very ambitious wine project based on the highest quality, which quickly gained great recognition.

Silvaner from Franken, in South Germany is a dry white wine known for its mineral characteristics. In 1659, the cultivation of Silvaner was first documented in Germany, namely in Castell  in Franken. This variety can express its terroir almost as well as Riesling. In 1970, 23% of German vineyards were planted with the Silvaner grape, however in 2018, it made up only 4.6% of the country's plantings. Silvaner ripens about two weeks earlier than Riesling, likes average exposure to sunshine and needs moist soil. They are full-bodied, delicate, earthy and fruity tones wine with a mild acidity, makes Silvaner an excellent food match. The aromas often resemble flowers and plants, or melons, yellow plums and apples. 

Malvasia Nera is the more fruity version of Negroamaro with the best results in Puglia and Tuscany. The Sampietrana winery was founded in 1952 as a cooperative. The vines for Malvasia are more than 50 years old.

The Italian region of Apulia (Puglia) with its capital Bari is located deep in the south on the Adriatic coast. The elongated region consists of the spur (the Gargano Mountains) and the heel (the Salento Peninsula) of the boot. The area is one of the oldest wine-growing regions in the world, as the Phoenicians and Greeks planted vines here 3,000 years ago. The Romans particularly valued the wine from Tarentum (port city of Taranto) and the poet Horace (65-8 BC) described this area as a place of “eternal spring”. In contrast to the other southern regions, there are hardly any mountains, but the landscape consists of plateaus and flatlands. The climate is dry and hot with little rainfall, so artificial irrigation is sometimes necessary. The soils consist primarily of limestone, clay and sandstone. Puglia has the most grape varieties in southern Italy, around 80 percent of which are red.

Domaine Bruneau-Dupuy is a long family history. Today it is Sylvain, the winegrower, and his wife Angélique, who manage the vineyard. Located in the Saint Nicolas de Bourgueil appellation, the couple only produce their wines in this appellation in 100% Cabernet Franc.

The soil is 2/two thirds on sands and gravel and another third on clayey-limestone slopes. Since 2013, Sylvain has been managing the vineyard in organic agriculture.

Grüner Veltliner is Austria's most important wine and recognizable from its spicy "peppery" flavor. The association with green, white and, due to higher ripeness also black pepper is complimented by a fruit-driven bouquet and crisp acidity. 

Historically the name should be given only to the municipalities of Gaiole, Radda and Castellina, that were part of the ancient "Florentine Military League of Chianti" whose symbol was a black rooster. More recently, due to the regulation of the wine's designation, "Chianti" is the area within the three old municipalities of the Chianti League and the area to San Casciano and Tavarnelle in Val di Pesa, Greve and part of Barberino Val D'Elsa, and the Sienese areas of Castelnuovo Berardenga and Poggibonsi. Only wines produced within these municipalities can be named "Chianti Classico" and are certified with the famous Black Rooster symbol.

Côtes de Bourg is an Appellation d'origine contrôlée (AOC) for Bordeaux wine situated around the small town of Bourg-sur-Gironde near Bordeaux, France. The first vineyards in the area were founded by the Romans. In the Middle Ages, Bourg was a major port for wine and the vineyards developed at the same tempo as the estuary traffic. Red Côtes de Bourg are garnet in colour and are predominantly based on the Merlot grape, blended with smaller quantities of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Some Chateaux still use Malbec as part of the blend. The vine has been established in le Bourgeais for centuries and the current varieties have been selected because of their performance in relation to the soil. The Côtes de Bourg are characterized by the diversity and richness of their soils.
Although the Côtes de Bourg is composed of mainly clay and limestone soils, their make-up is so rich that there is a veritable mosaic of sand and gravel in the area around Pugnac. Three types are predominant. Firstly, the Sienna-red Quaternary alluvium that is quite specific to the region and situated more on the heights: Merlot and Malbec are widely cultivated. Merlot and Cabernet are planted on clay and sandy gravel soils while Merlot is also grown on the widespread areas of clay and limestone.

The hilltops of Sancerre vineyards spread through 14 villages. The two grape varieties  in Sancerre are the Sauvignon Blanc and the Pinot Noir. They have gained the AOC status in 1936. The red and rosé wines, made from the noble Pinot Noir, followed in 1959 when they were awarded the AOC accreditation.

The red wines illustrate the virtues of Pinot Noir. They offer a bouquets of cherry and morellos. 

In the 12th century, cultivation of vines was given added impetus through the combined efforts of the Augustine monks in St-Satur and the ruling counts of Sancerre. At that time Sancerre was famous for its red wine, produced predominantly from the Pinot Noir grape, and exported from the region along the Loire. This wine is often mentioned in accounts of life at the royal court. The famous wine of Sancerre was, in the opinion of Duke Jean de Berry, indeed the finest wine to be found in the entire kingdom.

The Soave Classico is vinified with strict yield reduction, including green harvesting. The actual harvest is carried out in three stages in order to obtain only perfectly ripe grapes.

The colour of the wine is straw yellow, the bouquet beguilingly intense of white peach and elder, mineral mouthfeel and fine almond aroma.

The only wine-growing region that traditionally produces high-quality, sweet red wines is Georgia and the Kindzmarauli growing region there. Georgian wines are among the oldest in the world. The Kindzmarauli wine cooperative has also existed for centuries. Saperavi is the most important autochthonous grape variety from Georgia, Ukraine, Moldavia and Romania and produces spicy, medium-heavy wines with sophisticated wines. It is traditionally not only dry, but also semi-dry to sweet.

As the red wine of the line without sulphites we chose Teroldego: not only because it is the most important wine of the tradition of Trentino, but also for the characteristics of this variety, being it rich in anthocyanin, natural antioxidants. Thanks to its soft tannins it is perfect for a vinification and ripening only in steel, which enhances the fragrance of wild berries, strawberry and sour cherry, and a fresh and immediate drink.

The Monferrato zone lays claim to being Barbera's birthplace, and records of it growing there as far back as the 13th century. But the hills around Alba and Monforte d'Alba have proved they are capable of growing some particularly fine Barbera, as are parts of the Asti province. Century-old vines still exist in many regional vineyards and allow for the production of long-aging, robust red wines with intense fruit and enhanced tannic content. The best known appellation is the DOCG(Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita) Barbera D'Asti in the Piedmont region.

The Valenti winery is relatively young. It was only founded in 2004 and newly planted on almost 30 hectares. The soils are among the best on Mount Etna and in Sicily in general - Passopisciaro in the municipality of Castiglione di Sizilia. Etna Rosso is a DOC for dry red wines in the Italian region (island) Sicily. Sicily is considered the cradle of Italian viticulture in general. Many of today's autochthonous grapes descend from the ancient grape varieties cultivated at the time. A captivating Supertuscan that combines the four red varieties selected in the history of Banfi come the best for our vineyards in Montalcino. The mild winter and the summer characterized by excellent temperature excursions between day and night, favored the excellent ripeness and quality of the grapes. Thanks to these conditions the wines are balanced and complex. The result is an austere and intriguing wine, with distinctly fruity and spicy fragrances. The aromas of licorice and pepper are accompanied by a slight hint of leather. In the mouth it is balanced, with sweet tannins and persistent hints

Bonnezeaux is a white wine made with Chenin Blanc grapes that grow along the banks of the Loire River in the Touraine district of France. Wines range in style from dry to sweet, and still to sparkling, each with its own distinct character. The Chenin Blanc is loved for its delicate floral aromas and boisterous taste that will pucker your lips and make you immediately wish for another sip.

Behind the young winery La Nascosta is part of the Mastrojanni family, which is famous in Montalcino for its Brunello. The new project is primarily dedicated to white wines - on the volcanic soils of Monte Amiata near the Orcia River.

The grapes for Macchialuna grow on 1.5 hectares of vineyards. The white wine contains 60% Petit Manseng and 40% Sauvignon Blanc. Petit Manseng is native to small quantities, especially in southern France. The grape variety has small, hard-skinned berries with aromas of cinnamon, exotic fruits, honey and ripe peach. Sauvignon Blanc brings minerality, saltiness, some herbal aromas, hay to the wine. A very strict selection is carried out by hand picking. The grapes are then cooled to 6°C and cold maceration begins for 6-12 hours.

Beautiful Cru de Muscadet from an old vine and sits on the lees for 30 months (!). It is very long-lasting and can be decanted. The vineyard plot in Saint Fiacre called Le Rochils has gneiss soils. The Melon grape variety, which is found in every Muscadet in the region, originally comes from Burgundy and is related to White Burgundy. It was introduced to the Loire Valley around 1700.

The Mosel-Saar-Ruwer classic in perfection by Maximin Grünhaus from the Grand Cru vineyard Abtsberg. Light and refreshing with low alcohol levels and a beautiful balance, these naturally sweet Rieslings are always ready to drink. From young and racy to mature and elegant, there's a Grünhaus Kabinett to tempt every palate.

Riesling is one of the noble grape varieties and is capable of producing a variety of extraordinary white wine styles, and is most known for the sweeter-style German wine it produces.  Although sweet wines dominate this category, there are some amazingly dry and complex wine is produced in Alsace, Germany and the United States. This grape variety dominates in Germany and the majority of the white wines produced there are made in the sweeter style. There is a classification system in place, which categorizes wines by their sweetness. From driest to sweetest, they are Kabinett, Spätlese, Auslese,  Beerenauslese and Trockenbeerenauslese. These whites range from the semisweet, lighter style to the extremely sweet, lush and dessert wine style.

Viticulture in the Layon area was developed by Dutch traders in the 16th century. The wine is made from 100% Chenin Blanc grape variety. The temperate oceanic and particularly dry climate, combined with the shallow and pebbly soils that warm up quickly, offer ideal conditions for the development of noble rot. The slopes are well ventilated and allow overripe grapes to be harvested with a very high sugar content (90g of residual sugar in the wine). The berries have to be collected manually in several harvesting stages. The golden yellow color changes to old gold with amber reflections as it ages.

The grapes for Robert Weil's very good estate wine come from the Gräfenberg.The approximately 11 hectare Rheingau vineyard Kiedricher Gräfenberg is the sole property of the Robert Weil winery and is the most important vineyard plot in the property (a large vineyard in the VdP). The south to southwest location has a slope of 40 to 60%. The location allows optimal tanning with high temperatures. The drying of the leaf surfaces is promoted by good ventilation. The north winds that move from the Taunus to the Rhine have a positive effect on the microclimate of the vineyards and enable a long physiological ripening period and a corresponding fruit and aroma development of the grapes. Riesling is almost exclusively cultivated on the medium to deep, stony phyllite soils with proportions of loess and clay.

The Ciuri di Lava (in English flowers of the lava) is the orange wine from Valenti. The wine is made purely from the white etnatypical grape variety Carricante. Saint-Émilion is an Appellation d'origine contrôlée (AOC) for wine in the Bordeaux wine region of France, where it is situated in the Libourne subregion on the right bank of the Dordogne. The wines of Saint-Émilion are typically blended from different grape varieties, the three main ones being Merlot (60% of the blend), Cabernet Franc (nearly 30%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (around 10%). Only since 1954, there has been an official classification of Saint-Émilion wine. The classification is updated every 10 years, and consists of the following levels: Premier grand cru classé A, Premier grand cru classé B, and Grand cru classé.

German most famous and oldest viticulture is the „Steilhange“, steep slopes along the Mosella river. No wonder that Weingut Milz can praise such a long winemaking tradition and history. Since 1520, the Milz family has been known as great winemakers in Trittenheim, a wine village in the well-known Moselschleife. Parts of the original 1680 wine cellar are today still visible. Milz’s wines are quite classic Riesling from the Mosel, since they present the ideal alcohol level, delicatesugar residue and an extremely long finish. In 1900, these wines used to be the most expensive in any European restaurant’s menu, even more high-priced than the best Burgundies and Bordeaux wines.

Pure, well-structured Croze Hermitage. The Syrah grape variety delivers peppery notes, aromas of blackberries and herbs. Cave de Tain is one of the typical cooperatives in the wine region. The Crozes-Hermitages appellation in the northern section of the Rhône is classified as a cru location. It is located in the southern part of the section on the left bank of the Rhône. The red wines are made from Syrah and a maximum of 15% Marsanne or Roussane, the white wines from Marsanne and Roussanne. A well-known lover of the wines was the locally famous bandit Mandrin.

The single vineyard Savennières only covers 1.8 hectares and has sandy soil with granite, slate and volcanic rock. Chenin Blanc is one of the finest white wine grape varieties. It is at home on the Loire near Anjou, more precisely in Vouvray and Layon. The highly rated Château Soucherie winery was once the castle of the Dukes of Brissac. The vineyards cover 28 hectares.
The wines matured on the fine lees in the tonneau for 12-14 months. They are complex and elegant with delicate aromas - honeydew melon, quince and pear.

Long-lived red wine classic from Burgundy. The elegant red wine from Philippe Germain comes from a tiny vineyard parcel of 0.7 hectares and matures for 14 months in oak barrels. The Pommard appellation, named after the commune of the same name, with 313 hectares of vineyards, is located in the Côte de Beaune part of Burgundy's Côte d'Or. It adjoins the commune of Volnay. The Cistercians already owned vineyards here in the 12th century. The clergyman Claude Arnoux (1695-1770) described this wine in his famous book. Almost exclusively red wines are made from Pinot Noir with portions of Pinot Gris and Pinot Liébault. There are about 30 Premiers Crus with 128 hectares of vineyards.

The Herrenberg Grosse Gewächs. The 19-hectare vineyard borders the Abtsberg and is benefiting from climate change. The wines are spicy, intense, with a certain creaminess. The Maximin Grünhaus vineyard has only Grand Cru sites. The vineyards of the old estate on the Ruwer are situated in a spectacular location: the Abtsberg, Herrenberg and Bruderberg vineyards extend in a row from the small Ruwer river and the south-facing von Schubert family manor house. The soil consists of bluish Devonian slate on a steep slope.

The classification of German wines is very different from that of Italy. Fragore is one of the two impressive crus from the Etna volcano. The pure Nerello Mascalese comes from the Contrada Montelaguardia plot at almost 800 meters above sea level. Precipitation rarely falls here and the temperature differences between day and night are high. Complex aromas of cinnamon and tobacco, some flint. Fruit characterized by blackberries and blackcurrants. Very durable.

The famous Sicilian winery Donnafugata, founded in a relatively short time (1983), actually comes from Pantelleria and Marsala. A few years ago, excellent vineyards were added in Vittoria and on the Etna volcano.

Mille e una Notte is the legendary wine that made Donnafugata suddenly famous. Maturing : aged in oak casks for 18 months , lees are stirred up every week. Barrels benefit from a 36- month-process of drying ; wood coming from the center of France (fine grained selection). Light, slow and long in wood deepth toasting process.
Wine tasting : nose typical of its appellation : floral, toasted, full with the fruitiness of the Chardonnay. The entry is clean, the palate is fat and elegant, and ends with a mineral finish.
Service : serve it chilled between 12 and 14°C. Cellar it from 2 to 10 years.
