Wine 1953

Many years have passed since the harvest of this wine of 1953. At that time farmers and entrepreneurs of the agricultural world started a more defined career, due to the increasing significance of the names of producers.
Noblemen from Florence or the renowned French 1er Cru set already an example, but in the 50s and 60s the production of quality wine wasn’t only limited to nobles anymore. ... By holding a bottle of 1953 in your hands and tasting such an old wine is, therefore, a tribute to the past and to those who have worked on making the best out of nature to produce the best wine they could. We have collected these wine bottles of 1953 and stored them in the best way possible, until they pass into the hands of the next connoisseur.
A real old and drinkable wine from 1953. Every wine lover is fascinated by a perfectly aged and rare red wine with a world-famous origin.

Wine vertical

A bottle of wine of the year 1953 is a rarity and unique finding. The taste of the wine, which is defined by its old age, can be on the limit of enjoyment for some. Therefore, an interesting alternative to buying a wine as old as ones anniversary, can be to recreate the years of the jubilee with three younger wine bottles, which together are as old. The tasting of the years through single steps is a charming present for any wine lover. Wine experts love these kind of vertical wine tastings: they emphasize the different phases of these valuable wines, and how their color and taste both change when ripening.

it-1953-2613 1953 Barolo Mirafiore
Piemonte - Serralunga d'Alba
The classical dry red wine comes from the Barolo DOC in Northern Italy, the most important wine region of Piedmont. Prior to the mid-19th century, Barolo was a sweet wine. The fact that the Nebbiolo grape ripens late in October meant that temperatures would be steadily dropping by harvest. By November and December, temperatures in the Piedmont region would be cold enough to halt fermentation, leaving a significant amount of residual sugar left in the wine. In the mid-19th century the French enologist Louis Oudart improve the winemaking techniques of the local producers. Using techniques focusing on improving the hygiene of the cellar, Oudart was able to ferment the Nebbiolo must completely dry, making the first modern Barolo. This new, dry red wine soon became a favorite among the nobility of Turin and the ruling House of Savoy, giving rise to the popular description of Barolo as the wine of kings, the king of wines.
