La Rose Pauillac was born in 1933 with the will of twenty growers coming together to make a great Pauillac. Pauillac is a small town that, since ancient times, sailors and winemakers has built on the edge of the estuary of the Gironde. In the 1960s, almost all small farms in Pauillac had joined this fine working tool and the wines reputation has spread beyond the local markets. Harvesting at La Rose Pauillac is selected according to each vineyards micro climate and the individual varietal down to the individual plot. Over time the small plots are meticulously maintained. An average benchmark of 10,000 feet per hectare perpetuates the old adage that the less place the vines have, less they produce, thus making the flagship wine, La Rose Pauillac, all the more concentrated and rich.

Château Grand-Puy Ducasse was classified 5th growth in the famous 1855 classification. Three large plots in the best parts of Pauillac form the Pauillac, Grand Cru Classé en 1855 vineyard of this classified growth. This unusual configuration is a direct inheritance from the estate’s founder, Pierre
Ducasse, an eminent lawyer. In the 18th century he gave a single name to a fine vineyard holding, which was put together through inheritance and purchases. When he died in 1797, his son, Pierre, inherited a 60-hectare exploitation, named Ducasse-Grand-Puy-Artigues-Arnaud, of which two

Château Camensac borders on the Saint-Julien appellation, in the commune of Saint-Laurent-de-Médoc, surrounded by other excellent classed growths such as La Tour Carnet and Belgrave. Camensac means on the water's way, and comes from the words "camens", which means path or way and "ac", which means water in local dialect. In 1965 it was bought by the Forner brothers, who also own the well-known Marques de Carceres bodega in Rioja. The two brothers replanted most of the 85 hectares of vineyards, the balance now being 60% cabernet sauvignon and 40% merlot. They also renovated the cuverie and the cellars and hired the renowned Bordeaux oenologist Emile Peynaud as a consultant. he Merlaut family acquired Camensac in time for the 2005 vintage. Céline Villars-Loubet who owns Chasse-Spleen and her husband, Jean-Pierre Foubet are now in charge of the estate.

Chateau Lagrange started out life as Maison Noble de Lagrange Monteil as far back as the middle ages. Historical documents mention the future Bordeaux wine producing estate as far back to 1631. The large 157 hectare, St. Julien vineyards of Chateau Lagrange has a terroir of gravel based soils. The red wine grapes are planted to 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot and 7% Petit Verdot. The terroir is mostly gravel with sand, however some parcels have clay deposits with iron as well. The vineyard is divided into 110 different parcels.

Château Arricau-Bordes, with its medieval castle, is the landmark of the Madiran wine region. Madiran stands for extremely dense, tannic wines with a long shelf life. Wine growing in Madiran began with the Romans in the 2nd century. But it wasn't until the Benedictine abbey of Marcillac was founded in 1030 that the region's wine received recognition. The family winery of the 7th generation of the Barton family is located in the municipal appellation of Saint-Julien in the Médoc, not far from the Gironde. Thomas Barton, originally from Ireland, immigrated to Bordeaux in 1722 and founded a wine trade. His grandson Hugh Barton had to leave France after a short imprisonment in 1793 during the French Revolution. He tried unsuccessfully to acquire Château Lafite for over 15 years. Sociando Mallet takes its name from two previous owners. A nobleman known as Sociando held the property in 1633. Chateau Croizet Bages is a 30 hectare Bordeaux vineyard at the Bages plateau near Lynch Bages and Grand Puy Lacoste. The soils of gravel, sand, iron and minerals are specific to the Bages plateau. Château du Teigney is family-run in the fifth generation and now covers 33 hectares of vineyards in Langon in Graves. The wines from Graves established the fame of Bordeaux. The vineyards stretch 50 kilometers south from Bordeaux. The name Graves only came into use in the Middle Ages and is derived from the gravelly soil (terre graveleuse). The pebbles are picked up and placed next to the vines. They store the sun's heat during the day and release the heat to the grapes late into the night. This heat naturally promotes the ripening process and increases the sugar content of the grapes.
