Wine 1974
In Tuscany, there is a widely visible sign by which wine lovers can tell the quality of an old vintage. A tile is fixed to the town hall of Montalcino for a top year. This is also the case for the Brunello of the 1974 vintage. In general, very concentrated aromatically complex wines were produced in 1974 in all Italian growing regions. ... The initially very dry year also led to concentrated, robust wines in Bordeaux, which often lacked finesse.
A real old and drinkable wine from 1974. Every wine lover is fascinated by a perfectly aged and rare red wine with a world-famous origin.

Nebbiolo is a red Italian wine grape variety predominantly associated with the Piedmont region where it makes the wines of Barolo, Barbaresco, Nebbiolo and Gattinara. Nebbiolo is thought to derive its name from the Italian word nebbia which means fog. Nebbiolo does not adapt exceptionally well to various vineyard soil types, preferring soils with high concentration of calcareous marl such as those found on the right bank of the Tanaro river around Alba where the finest Barolo and Barbaresco are produced.

Sfursat, or Sforzato, is obtained from hand-made selection of the best bunches of Nebbiolo-Chiavennasca grapes, which are dried on wooden racks in a well ventilated and dry room, a "fruttaio", until late January. This treatment leads to a high concentration of natural sugars and special aromas. The dehydration of the grape varies between 35-40%, the berries are dry and their concentrated juice has developed specific and very intense aromatic substances. The vinification process consists of soft pressing of the grapes and subsequent fermentation. A 2 to 3 year ageing in oak casks and a final 6 to 12 month bottle refinement give this red wine its uniqueness.

The Pommard appellation, named after the municipality of the same name, with 313 hectares of vineyards is located in the Côte de Beaune part of the Burgundian Côte d'Or. It connects to the municipality of Volnay. The Cistercians owned vineyards here as early as the 12th century. The clergyman Claude Arnoux (1695-1770) described this wine in his famous book. Almost exclusively red wines are made from Pinot Noir with portions of Pinot Gris and Pinot Liébault. There are around 30 Premiers Crus with 128 hectares of vineyards.

The classical dry red wine comes from the appellation Saint-Emilion in Bordeaux. Saint-Émilion is an Appellation d'origine contrôlée (AOC) for wine in the Bordeaux wine region of France, where it is situated in the Libourne subregion on the right bank of the Dordogne. The wines of Saint-Émilion are typically blended from different grape varieties, the three main ones being Merlot (60% of the blend), Cabernet Franc (nearly 30%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (around 10%). Only since 1954, there has been an official classification of Saint-Émilion wine. The classification is updated every 10 years, and consists of the following levels: Premier grand cru classé A, Premier grand cru classé B, and Grand cru classé.

Chateau Gruaud Larose is always an elegant, impressive Bordeaux. The name of the winery goes back to the Bordeaux winemaker Gruaud, who combined several small plots of land into one property in 1757. He bequeathed it to the Chevalier de Larose, who added the second part of the name. In 1917, the Cordier wine trading company took over Château Gruaud-Larose. The change in ownership resulted in the characteristic bottle shape that all Cordier wineries had for a long time.
