The history of Paitin begins in 1796 when Benedetto Elia purchased a farmstead and wine cellar in Nieve, Barbaresco. In 1893, the classic Sori' Paitin Barbaresco is first produced. The wines of Paitin are benchmarks for quality in Barbaresco, standards which other producers measure themselves by. The greatest Barbaresco cru is actually in Neive; that is the famed Santo Stefano di Neive by Bruno Giacosa located within the Albesani cru. The other famed cru of Neive is Serraboella, the jewel of which is the Sori Paitin cru. Neive Barbareschi are typically more powerful than those of the other villages of Barbaesco, they are most “Barolo-like”.

Quality close to perfection. Château Belair is a 1er Grand Cru Classé and neighbour of Château Ausone. Brunello di Montalcino is a DOCG for dry red wine in the Italian region of Tuscany. The zone covers the slopes around the picturesque hilltop town of Montalcino - 40 kilometers south of Siena in the province of the same name. The wine is made 100 percent from the Sangiovese variety Brunello. An important aspect of quality lies in the very special climate, as it is warmer and drier than in the nearby Chianti areas and the nights are cooler. The Castello di Banfi winery was founded by the two Italian-Americans Harry and John Mariani from New York, who had become very wealthy by importing Lambrusco. In the mid-1970s they created a very ambitious wine project that focused on the highest quality and quickly gained great recognition.

Vougeot is a wine town in Burgundy that also has excellent vineyard plots in addition to its famous Grand Cru location Clos de Vougeot. The direct neighboring plot of Clos Vougeot is Les Cras, which has the same poor, stony soils and very old vines that only produce a yield of just 10 hl per hectare. The name Vougeot comes from the small river Vouge, which rises in the municipality.

Romano Levi's grappas are legendary. Carefully handcrafted, right down to the label, by a stubborn individual who accepted no compromises. This Category 1 grappa dates from 1997. The label was written by Levi and torn off and affixed by his sister. The suspended particles are from the bottling process, as the grappa was never filtered for quality reasons.
