Burgundy wine (French: Bourgogne) is wine made in the Burgundy region in eastern France. The most famous wines produced here - those commonly referred to as Burgundies - are red wines made from Pinot Noir grapes or white wines made from Chardonnay grapes. The Côte de Beaune area is the southern part of the Côte d'Or, the limestone ridge that is home to the great names of Burgundy wine. The Côte de Beaune starts between Nuits-Saint-Georges and Beaune, and extends southwards for about 25km to the River Dheune.
Chambolle-Musigny wine is produced in the village of Chambolle-Musigny in Côte de Nuits of Burgundy. The Appellation d'origine contrôlée (AOC) Chambolle-Musigny may only be used for red wine with Pinot noir as the main grape. There are 25 Premier Cru vineyards in Chambolle-Musigny, and two Grand Cru vineyards. The AOC was created in 1936.

The Domaine Morin Pere et Fils has vineyards mainly in Volnay (where the winery is also located) and with a small part in Pommard. The municipal appellation Volnay, named after the place of the same name, with 226 hectares of vineyards is located in the Côte de Beaune area on the Burgundian Côte d'Or between the municipalities of Pommard and Meursault. Red wines are produced almost exclusively from Pinot Noir with proportions of Pinot Gris and Pinot Liébault, which are among the best in Burgundy. The Cistercians already owned vineyards here in the 14th century and were very popular with the Dukes of Burgundy, who had a castle here at the time. Claude Arnoux (1695-1770) begins his famous book on Burgundy wines with a Latin hymn of praise for the wines of Volnay, in which he describes them as "partridge coloured" and the best wines of the Côte de Beaune. In the 17th and 18th centuries, the wine from this commune was one of the favorites of the Bourbons and the aristocracy as a whole.

There are two neighboring municipalities in the Côte de Beaune area of the Côte d'Or that have added the name to the famous Grand Cru site Le Montrachet, namely Chassagne and (as recently as 1879) Puligny. The red wines are produced from pure Pinot Noir. Red wine production has been declining since the 1980s. There are several Grand Cru and Premier Cru locations in the two appellations, some of which also cross the municipal boundaries. Amarone della Valpolicella is an intensely flavored dry red wine made from the Veneto and Lombardia regions of north Italy. Amarone wines are made from carefully selected bunches of the best grapes. These grapes are then dried between three and four months, before fermentation. Traditionally the grapes were dried on wooden racks at ambient temperatures. the wines are matured in oak for at least two years for 'normale' Amarone and four years for Riserva. Amarone comes from the Italian word amaro bitter, compared to the sweeter wine of the region, the Recioto.
