In the town of Lagrasse, Château Pech-Latt is located in the heart of the Corbières appellation in Languedoc-Roussillon. The story begins in 1807, in Paris, when the Marquis of Barolo Carlo Tancredi Falletti married Juliette Colbert de Maulévrier, a French noblewoman and the great granddaughter of the Minister of Finance Colbert by Luigi XIV . The Listrac-Médoc appellation is situated in the north-west of the Gironde County. This area, baptised The Roof of the Médoc, reaches a height of 43 metres above sea level.
Château Clarke dates back to the 12th century, when Cistercian monks at the Vertheuil Abbey in Listrac planted the first grapevines. In the year 1771 the Irish knight Tobie Clarke bought the vineyards with 230 hectares. Then, after a series of inheritances and sales, the property was bought in 1973 by Baron Edmond de Rothschild and has now 53 hectares of vineyards.

The winery was founded in 1896 by Federico Paternina in Ollauri in the Rioja region. In 1920 a cooperative was added in Haro. Terre del Barolo is the largest cooperative and the most well know top quality wines producer in Piedmont. The Terre del Barolo winery was founded on 8 December 1958 by 22 growers from various villages in the neighbourhood of Alba. The name of the property, Marquis d’Alesme comes from one of the early aristocratic families from the Bordeaux wine region. The property was acquired in 1809 by the business man Jean Bekker Terrlink, who attached his name to that of the estate. He was also the owner of Chateau Lascombes. Like many Bordeaux chateaux, Marquis d’Alesme changed hands during the French revolution. A succession of owners followed until 1938 when the property was sold to the Zuger family, the owners of another Bordeaux wine property, Chateau Malescot-Saint-Exupéry. In 2006, the Perrodo family, also owner of Chateau Labegorce, bought the estate. The vineyard area consists of 16 hectares (40 acres) of vines, currently planted with 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc  and 10% Petit Verdot.

Château Canon-la-Gaffelière is located in the centre of the St.Emilion appellation, due south of St.Emilion town, the property has a similar climate to that enjoyed by both St.Emilion and Pomerol: more continental than the maritime Médoc. Hermitage is one of the famous Grand Cru on the Côte du Rhône. The very elegant Syrah offers dark berry, spicy aromas with strong tannins and is very long-lasting.

The Hermitage Hill was formed in the Ice Age when the Rhône broke through this eastern extension of the Massif Central following a rapid fall in sea level. The eastern, larger part of the slope, on the other hand, is formed in the middle by rubble made of sand and limestone that the Rhône had transported from the Alps.
