The Pommard appellation, named after the municipality of the same name, with 313 hectares of vineyards is located in the Côte de Beaune part of the Burgundian Côte d'Or. Grignolino is one of the characteristic wines of Piedmont and its value is further enhanced by the limited quantity produced. The name derives from the dialect term for the seed of the grape called 'grignola' as it contains more of it than other varieties. The appellation is named after the small town of Rivesaltes, north of Perpignan, in the French region of Roussillon. The sweet vin doux naturel is produced from overripe grapes that have already dried on the vine. In the heart of wine-growing Piedmont , in the hills of the Langhe is the estate vineyards of Fontanafredda, located in the villages of Serralunga d'Alba, Diano d'Alba and Barolo. 70 hectares planted with the Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto and Moscato varieties.
