Saint-Julien is an Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC) for red wine in the Bordeaux region, located in the Médoc subregion near the river Gironde (left bank). It takes its name from the commune Saint-Julien-Beychevelle and is one of the six communal appellations in Médoc. There are a lot of very fine, high classified Bordeaux estates located within St.Julien. But even some Cru Bourgois Chateaux are very interesting.
