Description of the product
The Berlucchi house was founded in 1955 by Guido Berlucchi. From the beginning, the quality of the sparkling wines was guaranteed by the oenologist Franco Ziliano. Together they made the Franciacorta region the epitome of first-class sparkling wines. The idea was to produce a sparkling wine according to the "Metodo Classico" (classical bottle fermentation) entirely in the French manner in Franciacorta. In 1961, the first 3,000 bottles of Franciacorta Spumante were produced. Today, Berlucchi produces about four million bottles and is still the reference in Franciacorta.
When the vintage is written on the bottle of a sparkling wine, at least 85% of the entire wine must come from a single vintage. The Millesimato vintage wine is only made if the vintage is particularly good in terms of quality and can tolerate longer ageing on its lees. A vintage Franciacorta should be matured for at least 37 months before being put on the market.
